Timeless: Rock Rebels stars three recognized, respected, and influential mainstays on the Ontario music scene honouring the life, legacy, and songs of three of rock ’n roll’s most dynamic performers!
Bringing his re-creation of 60s- and 70s-era Elvis Presley to his hometown is international award-winning entertainer, Roy LeBlanc: two-time champion and long-time host of the Collingwood Elvis Festival; star of the touring sell-out hit musical production, Blue Suede Shoes for six consecutive years; first Canadian to be named “World’s Finest Elvis” at the Elvis Extravaganza in Las Vegas; and co-star of the North American and Australian touring production, Sun Records All-Stars. Throughout his 25 year-long music career, whether performing his original country songs, paying tribute to Elvis Presley, or performing as vocal powerhouse, Roy Orbison, in Canada’s own Traveling Wilburys band, Roy has opened for or performed with Billy Ray Cyrus, The Sweet Inspirations, The Jordanairs, Elvis’s drummer DJ Fontana, Doc Walker, and Orchestra London.
Sharing the stage is international award-winning tribute artist, Joe Passion, with his fiery portrayal of Jerry Lee Lewis – the boogie-woogie piano-man of the 1950s! A professional musician for nearly three decades, Passion has headlined on world-class stages to sold-out audiences across North America, Europe, and Australia portraying Jerry Lee Lewis, Barry Manilow, and John Lennon in productions including Legends Alive, Legends in Concert, Sun Records All-Stars with LeBlanc, and most recently as a feature performer for Stars in Concert in Germany for 30 months. Opening for acts such as The Who, Procol Harum, The Band, Johnny Winter, and Bonnie Tyler, Passion has also recorded and published original songs for established record labels and publishers, spanning everything from rock to metal and from pop to rockabilly.
Finally, professional rock and blues singer, songwriter, and performer, London Music Hall of Famer, and multiple award winner, Doug Varty, completes the show with his electrifying portrayal of Rod Stewart! A professional performer for more than 50 years, Doug has appeared live on stage with Bob Seger, Tina Turner, Rush, Roy Orbison, and Meatloaf. Writing, recording, and promoting over 25 albums and singles since his first release in 1970, and criss-crossing North America on countless performance tours with The Doug Varty Band and other acts like SeaDog, Lowdown, Old Chicago Band, The Bushdoctors, and Beatles in Blue, his passion for entertaining has never dimmed, and his presentation of “Rod the Mod” is sure to get the audience up on their feet!
Backed by The Royal Tribute Band, this unique portrayal of some of rock music’s most eyebrow-raising and controversial stars promises to be one of the most energetic concerts Ontario audiences have ever seen!
